Arch of Vines 2 IR converted

Uploaded: June 08, 2012 10:38:19

Description

This is one of my favorite IR photos so far! Conversion using channel mixer created this incredible blue sky. The rest of the colors were de-saturated to make the vines more white. Sharpened and contrast increased.

Exif: F Number: 8, Exposure Bias Value: -1.67, ExposureTime: 125/100000 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 18.00 mm, Model: NIKON D80

G'day WENDY!

Magical, mystical and surreal and the first words which sprang to mind as I viewed this excellent IR. The white of the leaves against the blue of the sky with its foil of clouds is a real winner for me. Your point of view and f/stop selection give the image depth and the dark vine trunks and ground tones break the foreground and mid-ground beautifully.
